As some of you may know, Breast cancer has had a very personal and life changing impact on my family. In 2021, my wife, and Darcie’s mom, Natalie was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since that time, Nat has been through three surgeries, chemo, radiation and a multitude of other ongoing treatments.

As the strong person she is, every year since, Natalie has entered a team in the Canadian Cancer Society - CIBC Run for the Cure, Canada’s largest single-day, volunteer-led event in support of breast cancer awareness.

Fortunately, in years past, our kids hockey teams have come out and offered their support to this amazing cause, and I’m hoping this year the U18 B Rockets may also come out and represent.

The unfortunate reality for these young ladies is that it is estimated that 1 in 8 Canadian women gets diagnosed with breast cancer, and that’s a very scary thought.

If you are available, we would love your Rocket to get all pinked up and join us for the run/walk on October 5 in the morning at Tunney’s Pasture, 170 Tunney's Pasture Driveway (9:00AM).

For now, please save the date on your calendar. Closer to the date we will coordinate some carpooling for anyone that is available to attend.
